IOR

IOR (Initiate ORacle) was an Oracle 5 DBA utility for starting and stopping databases. IOR was later replaced with SQL*DBA in Oracle 6, Server Manager in Oracle 7 and SQL*Plus in Oracle 8i.
Usage[edit]
Initialises a new Oracle database for the first time:
IOR INIT
Warm start an Oracle database:
IOR WARM
Closes down an Oracle database
IOR SHUT
Like the modern "SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE"
IOR CLEAR
