Database Administrator

A Database Administrator (DBA) is a person who performs Database Administration duties. DBA's are mainly concerned with the environmental aspects of the database. Typical DBA responsibilities include:
- Backup and recovery;
- Database security;
- Availability management;
- Database performance tuning;
- Integrity of the data; and
- Developer assistance.
