Never would have thought of interrupting support of Oracle in the large corporation I work in... Good point about the OS and upgrading. Years ago, we had an old HP 755 that couldn't be upgraded to the latest HP-UX 11.0 . I think that was when we wanted to go to 8i and 8i required HP-UX 11.0 . So, we had to replace the hardware, which was needed anyway. Amazing how long those machines ran and with amazingly high availability.
