Cycling to Redwood Shores safer than to North York

We're actually in process of moving to the suburbs (Markham). A new lab was built to consolidate all the different locations and accomodate the growth..
No clue how the cycling situation is there (DB2 has't moved yet). For the old lab folks take advantage of Toronto's very good public transit.
