As far as I recall Oracle announced that all the Server Manager facilities were available in Sql*Plus In Oracle 8i and thus that would be the last rellease to contain the utility.
It was a strong hint to get people to rewrite their scripts to using Sql*Plus instead of server manager.
Not all users take the hint, and they are surpriset when Oracle do what they told us they will :-)
I am still downloading the package and have not yet seen whats in there, but I wont be looking for the Server manager.
