I just read an article about that, somewhere. There's a story behind that gallon. It's cost the pickle companies to do that. The essence of the article that I read seems to be that selling into Walmart is like jumping up and throwing yourself down real hard onto a bed nails. It's gonna hurt.

I don't like shopping at Walmart. My first impression of a Walmart store was bad, and for whatever reason, probably for no rational reason, I've developed quite a visceral dislike for their stores, and for the company. Unfortunately, they have a really good store in Marquette, and we have very limited shopping up where I live, so I do, occasionally when I can't avoid it, shop at Walmart.

There's a good book to read, titled "Nickel and Dimed". It's by Barbera Eisenrach. She worked at Walmart, and at some other low-end jobs, and then wrote about what it's like to live at that level. It's not pretty, believe me. Every schoolkid should read her book. It'd motivate them to study harder, to avoid such a fate themselves.

I have Claussen pickles upstairs, not Vlassic. Now my mouth is watering. I'm off to eat a pickle now.
