In the docs, under prequisites for 'alter index'
To execute the MONITORING USAGE clause, the index must be in your own schema.

Please respond to ORACLE-L
To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L <ORACLE-L_at_fatcity.com> cc: Subject: monitoring index usage
Hi all:
I tried to start monitoring an index via:
alter index OWNER.INDEX monitoring usage; Then I queried the v$object_usage view expecting to see a row there for the INDEX, but the view was empty. Does anyone see what I'm doing wrong here?
thanks
Gene
