Ken - Bingo! And the fact that they aren't linking it to a product offering
is what is making everyone question Microsoft's motives. Given that this
comes on the heels of SCO suing IBM over Linux. Just a coincidence? Given
that Microsoft has officially stated that Linux may cut into their monopoly
revenues, it seems strange.
Of course, there are alternate explanations. A colleague here pointed out that maybe Bill Gates saw the new Matrix Reloaded, saw that the Matrix has root processes, and decided if the Matrix runs on Unix maybe he should get behind the eventual winner.

The article doesn't say anything about what they are going to do with SCO.
Could you provide the link to the article?

There has appeared a news article stating that MS signed a licensing agreement with SCO for their unix. Does this mean that SQL Server will be offered on the SCO OS in the future?
Your comments please.
Thanks,
