I think that nt platforms always split the effective memory half half
between the os and the applications. To enable use of the large memory you
have , first of all you should use win2k advanced server or the datacenter
edition. Oracle9i release 2 for Windows supports Very Large Memory (VLM)
configurations in Windows 2000 and Windows XP, which allows Oracle9i release
2 to access more than the 4 gigabyte (GB) of RAM traditionally available to
Windows applications. But in order to use the "4GB Ram Tuning" feature or
the "Address Windowing Extensions" features you would have to have at least
4gb memory. Aren't you 1gb short ?
