Thanks all.
I will give it a try. I have 1048 RAM, 40GB. With 2 database installed, I still have more than 20GB left.

Don't really agree with that, Got a laptop that can run Oracle 9i and the entire Brio8 Suite and still perform reasonably well as a demo (512Mb Memory P4 1,7). also for Rman scenario testing I have sometimes three instances running on my laptop. Tune to the bar minimum and your Oracle DB will use about 50-60 Mb Ram.

Yip.
Just use another ORACLE_HOME.
Say bye-bye your laptop resources though!

Hi, Experts:
I have a dummy question, I thought impossible, but still want to check
again:
I have Oracle 8i installed on my laptop already. Is it possible that I can
install Oracle 9i without deleting 8i?
If possible, any tips, hints? Thanks
Steven
