I love vim, also just so that you all know, I downloaded some Unix utilities
from http://www.gnuwin.org and http://gnuwin.epfl.ch/apps/en/bestlist.html
... these run native on Win32 platform. i.e. you don't need CYGWIN ...
I love these utilities ...

I'm with Jared on this one... The real beauty of vi is that it's also an excellent C development environment, not to mention shell script development environment (plus probably other languages, but I only use PL/SQL, SH and C).
I haven't tried vim yet, perhaps I will give it a go.
