I use SQL*Programmer for PL/SQL development. I bought it
from Sylvain-Faust before BMC glommed onto the software and
priced it outta my range. I tried SQL*Navigator and went
back to SQL-Programmer.
Just my 2¢ worth...I guess I'd have no clue why you're hanging. Quest/TOAD has a little utility called SQL-Monitor that watches your SQL*Net connection and shows you what SQL is going out. You might try that and see if you're executing some humungous full table scan.
