This is a routing issue, talk to your network admin and he'll be able to solve your problem in a few seconds. Basically what you need to do is set up a route from your machine to the database using the other machine as a gateway, then you can reconfigure your tnsnames.ora and you're all set.
Oh, by the way, I've switched to digest mode because of the extreme traffic level so if you want a fast answer you might have to email me directly, otherwise I won't get your message until tommorrow.
