Looks like someone has the network setup really wacked. One thing you haven't said is where there machines are located. If their within the same facility, especially the one your working in then someone either doesn't know how to configure a network, or is so paranoid about loosing their job that they've created an obfuscated mess that only they can figure out. Anyway, no you can't configure anything in the Oracle world to do what you need. Go have a discussion with the Network Admin, his supervisor, and your supervisor. See if you can convince them that simplifying the network configuration has benefits to all.

Hi List

We connect to the production database thru TELNET as:

telnet 10.100.0.1
[ and again from this machine ]
telnet 10.10.1.10
[ TWO times telnet ]

The database resides on 10.10.1.10 machine. We are directly working on the server machine.
I want to use local clients(TOAD, sqlplus). telnet from my machine to DB-Server machine(10.10.1.10) is not possible (Does not ping).

Is it possible to CONFIGURE the my tnsnames.ora (using the two ips somehow) file so that i can have access to DB.

Thanks and Regards
