Allan,

    I don't know about killing the deamons, they seem to be perfectly well behaved, after you unmount the CD. But DON'T for any reason leave that CD mounted for longer then needed. Your absolutely correct, the deamons will become just that, DEAMONS from HP Hell. We had a 4 processor N4000 go to 100% on all four CPU's 12 hours after finishing the install. Left the CD mounted overnight.

Another little thing to keep in mind with these pfs mounts is if for some reason your pfsd or pfs_mountd dies your system will yearn for those "nfs mounts" with such intensity that you will have to reboot the server. I always unmount a pfs mounted cd as soon as I'm done with them and kill the pfs daemons as well.
