Yes, and sometimes denormalizing ad nauseum will cause performance problems... What works on paper and what *really* works is not always exactly the same. On paper SQL Server works. ? Sorry, couldn't resist!

What kind of differences, exactly? Sometimes the implementation might not be as "elegant" as the conceived logical model.
