I worked as a consultant for a while where the person doing the placing tried to convince the clients that because I knew oracle, I knew every product put out under the oracle name. I had, at that time, only worked with ReportWriter 1.0 for about one month and NEVER worked with ReportWriter 2.0. During the interview, the client was not to impressed with "my" knowledge. On my resume - the one I typed out - I did not even list ReportWriter, as I considered myself a DBA, and had only looked at ReportWriter more from an evaluation standpoint than from learning/working standpoint.

After all this rambling, what I am trying to say is, it ain't just recruiters. Beware what anyone representing you says about your experience.
