Are you creating the user name as domain\user? Starting with 8.1.5 this is
now the default. There is a registry parameter OSAUTH_PREFIX_DOMAIN that
controls this.

Subject: Help with OS authentication on NT?
Hi,
Environment: WindowsNT Server version 4.0 SP6.A
Oracle 8.1.6 Enterprise Edition
I'm trying to get my users setup with externally authenticated oracle accounts.
I have set the following params:
REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT = true os_authent_prefix = ""
I have also created a user to be authenticated externally. The user belongs to the domain the server is located in.
When I test the login I'm recieving "invalid username/password" messages. The username is correct and the password is correct.
Can someone tell me what is missing, besides a few of my brain cells?
TIA, Steve
