Rman was pretty much unusable and extremely buggy in 8.1.x ... I would strongly recommend staying away from any attempts at using rman in an 8.1.x environment.

It became somewhat stable and useable in 9.2 when patched to latest maintenance available in 9.2 ... Received on Tue Oct 06 2009 - 08:50:33 CDT
