Start with some basic like unixllinux for dummies if you don't have any grasp of basic os concepts in unix/linux.

Tom Kyte has a very good book on oracle 10g and forward concepts think name is Expert Oracle Architecture of similar. Read that book thru a couple times and do the shampoo thing ( rinse and repeat ).
