Depends on the applications running. I converted one reporting database to 11g because of the large amount of repetitive queries in the web application and it did deliver the performance increase that I expected from it. On the other hand, I tried compressing table for all operations and got a bunch of ORA-0600. I don't yet have any OLTP databases on Oracle11. I guess that the answer is: "it depends".
