10.2.0.2 Ent Ed AIX 5.2 64bit
after some research I found that with 10.2 aq_tm_processes doesn't necessarily control whether QMNC gets started. I noticed in several of our databases that process exists along with a couple of q00n processes. We don't use Streams, so this made me look into it.
I checked the parameter setting and it was set to 0 in memory and unspecified in the spfile. After doing an alter system setting it to 0 with a scope of both, the processes disappeared.
Now the metalink notes on this change say not to disable streams but never really goes into the reasoning. We don't use it, why do the processes need to be there? Received on Thu Feb 07 2008 - 10:54:58 CST
