You won't provide enough details to determine what would be the 'best solution' so your question cannot be answered. We need:

Operating system on source machine
Operating system on destination machine
Oracle release being used (all FOUR numbers)

Then, and only then, can anyone direct you.

This is a sad commentary on OCP.
