8.1.7 doesn't say much except that you're woefully behind the most current of releases; 8.1.7 hasn't been supported in this century. That being said which release (all four numbers) are you using, on which operating system? You've had excellent advice thus far from gazzag; until you provide more detail to us that's the best anyone can do for you.

Post the requested information, along with any trace files/alert log messages which may be relevant.
