Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle Enterprise 10gR2 can't be installed on Windows XP/2003
Hi,
i have tryed to install Oracle 10g Enterprise Database (Release2) on a
clean Windows XP Prof. (SP2) maschine and on a Windows Server 2003. I
get the same errormessage on both PC.
The installation starts and work fine, but during the last steps (the
wizzard tells something about creating the Clone-Database) i get the
errormessage: ORA-12154: TNS: ...can't resolve ConnectIdentifier...
DHCP is not active and both PCs have a static IP, nonetheless i tryed to use the ORACLE_HOSTNAME environment variable, setting the IP in the windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts-file and then i tryed to use a loopback-networkadapter (all are hints in the docu of oracle installation guide). but nothing works, always the same error.
The uncompleted installation-steps are logged in a file and if i change the parameter of the command in the log-file (from "- sampleShema true" to "-sampleShema false") and run the command by myself the installation completes, but no Database is created and i can't log in as SYSTEM (or something else) in the iSQL-Webpage.
I hope someone have the same error or someone have solved this problem, but i haven't found a solution in this Newsgroup. Thomas Received on Sat Aug 11 2007 - 07:46:38 CDT
