Just received the following from the Beta office: "You can talk about the features. You cannot share the beta code, product documentation or training materials."

So here are just a couple of things that are new to 11g which are worth paying attention to and none of which, I recall, hearing about during the presentation:

  1. Virtual Columns
  2. Invisible Indexes
  3. A phenomenal improvement in native compilation
  4. Control over the connection pool
  5. Improvements in task administration
  6. Statistics collection for AW dimensions and cubes
  7. Editions (all I can say now ... watch this one)
  8. Health maintenance checks for control files, data files, archive logs, table-index relationship, etc.
  9. New security for UTL_TCP, UTL_HTTP, UTL_SMTP, UTL_MAIL, and UTL_INADDR
  10. Flashback Archiving ... a great addition to flashback technology

And they dropped bdump and udump just to make sure everyone has something important to complain about.
