You can use the backup images to restore on another server assuming the backup pieces have the same fully-qualified pathname that was used on the production server. The restore operation will not change any of the backuppieces. Also, you could use RMAN backup backuppiece to make a copy of your backuppieces on disk to backup to Veritas (if you wanted). In a restore event, you then wouldn't need to restore the backuppiece to disk before RMAN could use it. Received on Thu May 17 2007 - 14:14:59 CDT
