Thank you. Getting this verification is important. I hope that was the setting when you installed XE, as we have found this is a fgrequent issue.

Remaining suggestions are same as hpuxrac.

Plus one - you could always register for the XE forum and go through the solutions there.

To register for the XE forum,

1. make sure you have a valid OTN/Forum ID;
2. make sure you a signed in to the forums;
3. use the link from your successful XE install OR http://www.oracle.com/technology/xe/registration
4. Fill in the form
5. Sign out of the forums
6. Sign back in to the forums using the same ID that you registered
7. Check whether the hidden forum is at the bottom of http://forums.oracle.com

If the XE forum does not show up, you may have to wait a while from the time you registered before repeating steps 6 and 7 ... some have reported up to 6 hours, but I think the typical is about 30 minutes.

Note that you MUST SIGN OUT AND BACK IN USING THE REGISTERED ID.
