Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Autoextend situation with multiple datafiles
I'm running Oracle 9 on Solaris system and one of the partition
containing a datafile become full.
I have 2 solutions to resolve my problem : first extend the metadevice
(extend the volume in disksuite) so that the datafile may autoextend,
or add a new datafile.
Does anyone can tell me which solution is the better one ? What impact
do these solutions have to the perfomance ?
If I add a new datafile, how will the datafile(s) extend ? At present time the datafile is in autoextend on. If I add a second one with autoextend on, will the first still extend too ? Do I need to alter the first datafile to autoextend off ?
