Anyone using active directory instead of tnsnames.ora?

Is anyone using active directory instead of tnsnames.ora?



Just wondering because administering numerous tnsnames.ora files can be a bit 
of a pain?



If anyone is using active directory for directory naming, are you using 
anonymous binds and if so is this a security risk?



I don't do much work on windows so any comments would be greatly appreciated.
