Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> AUSOUG/OAUG Australian 2006 conference - abstracts and schedule now available
AUSOUG and OAUG witnessed unprecedented support for this years
conference series with just over 150 paper abstracts submitted for both
cities, and only 70 odd slots to fill. That shows a huge demand and
great support for our members in delivering great presentations in
2006.
If you haven't already checked them out, the conference draft schedules are available on the conference web page http://www.ausoug.org.au/2020.
The committee has also published the draft conference program including abstracts for you to read and make your mind up on what presentations you are going to attend.
There is the usual disclaimer like every year, until we finalize the schedule and delegate program details are subject to change, but rest assured the committees are working hard putting the finishing touches on this year's conference series "Fusing IT with Business Strategies".
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS There are so many highlights in this year's conference it's hard to give them justice in this email. But the committee would like to offer a little appetiser on what Oracle alone is providing this year in our huge content:
· Applications Fusion! - databases aren't Oracle's only forte.
AUSOUG and the OAUG are very excited to announce that Steve Miranda,
Oracle's Vice President for Applications Development will be addressing
our applications members with Oracle's vision for the future. But it
doesn't stop there as Craig Jones and Adrian Johnston from Oracle will
be outlining Applications Unlimited, and Roland Slee on accelerating
the journey to Fusion. Don't forget Tim Blake the most popular
presenter from 2005 returns to prepare us for the future with his ideas
on the Oracle Fusion technology stack.
· Next Generation Databases - Oracle is about to make a huge
announcement at Oracle OpenWorld about the next generation of database
technology. Can you guess what it is? And believe it or not but once
again AUSOUG and the OAUG are very excited to announce that Mark
Townsend Vice President of Product Management for the Oracle Database
will be landing in Melbourne to give us the latest news straight after
Oracle OpenWorld. Australia's own Barry Matthews has kindly agreed to
carry Mark's message to Perth's fair shores so the Western Australian
members will also have the latest information on this important
database announcement. Why take the long expensive flight to San
Francisco when you can hear the same important information fresh in
Australia?
· Expert Development - and the committee can't stop serving Oracle's
great content there because Chris Schalk and Lynn Munsinger, both
JDeveloper Principal Product Managers, Java evangelists and authors
will be touching down in Australia from the USA to deliver the latest
on JDeveloper. Or what about Oracle's Tim Middleton giving the low down
on bullet proofing your Oracle Application Server, and Matthew Gregory
on what's so good about Drake?
· You must admit Oracle has delivered a huge array of presentations
for the Australian IT community. That shows a belief and respect for
you, our user group members. So take the opportunity to check out the
20:20 Foresight pages for the latest conference information ....
