General responses:

Kenneth,

Sorry about the log mix up. The segments were from two different runs. We allocate three channels, then backup all the logs. Since the backup of the controlfile is done via the "configure controlfile autobackup on;" command, it cannot use different TSM parameters. That is what is so confusing to me.

Steve,
My guys bounce TSM once a day. "A bounce a day keeps the crashes away" We ignore any errors from 9:55 to 11:15. Snicker.

Andreas,

Thanks for the hint on CONNTIMEOUT. I think the storage guys know about this and have adjusted it. Is it possible that 6000 is not enough?

Thanks for all the responses. You guys have all given me food for thought. I can't wait to feed some of it to the storage group.

Thanks again,
