Failover timeout Solaris 8 and Oracle 9i

We have a new solaris 8 server destined to run oracle 9i, storage is via an EMC Clariion cx700 SAN with 2 single channel HBA's, This is an active/passive SAN, so one path is always used and the other is not until a failure is detected. Only one path is ever active and no load balancing at all.

We have simulated an HBA failure - pulled the plug at the HBA, and Solaris takes 1m 50s to detect this and ultimately failover to the other HBA. I am a unix admin and am wondering how this will affect Oracle? Will Oracle crash or wait patiently for the failover to occur? Received on Mon Apr 10 2006 - 16:12:30 CDT
