Re: rownum & group by question

Your query neither returns 3 rows .. nor does it return the rows in the order
you are thinking it returns:

1. rownum < 3 .. will return 2 rows. Not 3.
2. order by clause is executed after rownum. So your query is returning any 2 rows and then doing the order by.

Goto asktom.oracle.com and search for "rownum" and then for "pivot table"
