Thanks for clearing that up. The distinct was what made me sit up and take notice in the first place, it's one of those red flags for me, and I still don't feel comfortable enough with the "over" syntax to not expect it to always full table (or partition) scan. Appreciation to all who have posted analytics examples lately.
