IIRC, I still have an install of 8.1.7.4 running on my personal Windows 2000 (not sure the SP level) at home. I have not made heavy use of it in several years, but it ran just fine when I was doing a lot of research back in the day.

In terms of the export -> import, I *think* you will be okay. Test it first with a small subset of the database.

I understand the issue with the customer. Just make sure that they have legally acknowledged that they are on an unsupported platform and should anything happen, their data may be lost forever.
