Under 9iR2 and 10gR2 there's a Starter Database entry, under the Oracle Home entry, Oracle 9i/10g Database, Oracle 9i/10g, then it's Starter Database with a version number. This is in the Deinstall Products button on the first dialogue.
Is that not in 8i? I haven't got 8i installed.
