Ok I figured this out. Used System.out.println( System.getProperty("java.version"));

Worked fine. Now I know that the oracle jdk installed in version 9.2.0.1.0 is actually jdk 1.3 Received on Thu Dec 29 2005 - 14:13:13 CST
