For the history books: the new metalink defaults the search to the
knowledge base, when I searched the forums as well I came upon a
thread, in which Oracle said that this is a Windows specific bug in
8.1.6, and it is corrected later. Apparently it is not.
I could "finish" the duplicate process by issuing the create
controlfile in a slightly modified form (adding the datafiles) and then
I opened the database with resetlogs. The original create controlfile
had the system.dbf only because rman wanted to switch the datafiles
later. I have not tested that the change in the DBID happened this way
or not.
