Trace what with which, specific, Oracle version?

8.0.3, 8.04, 8.0.5, 8.0.6, 8.1.5, 8.1.6, 8.1.7? All currently unsupported or in the process of desupport.

But I'd suggest you look up the following: Explain Plan
Autotrace
TKPROF
DBMS_SUPPORT
DBMS_TRACE
