In my opinion 2 CPU single cores.

In this way you can exploit the hypertransport and the single bus toward memory and the NUMA architecture (every single-core CPU in a SMP system doesn't share its memory channel).

Less contention and higher memory throughput.

Disadvantage: oracle license a little bit more expensive (1/3).
