Why not? Inherited or not it is badly coded and will need to be fixed in every single location where it exists.

As I'm not sitting in your chair I can't tell you this is THE problem. But I can tell you without hesitation that if it isn't now it will be and needs to be dealt with.

Need the full and complete edition and version of the database Need the full and complete DDL for the table being queried Need sample data exactly as it is in the row causing the problem Need the full and complete text of the query being run AND
The complete, exact, and full text of the message generated

Then if someone else can reproduce that exact condition they may be able to provide an alternative explanation. I'm personally choking on your description that it only happens: "When everyone starts working after hour."
