Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> how to make ORACLE installer see my new "inventory_loc" location?
Hi All,
I am trying to install oracle 10.2.0 (10g r2 ) on linux 64 bit.
uname -a (show this:)
Linux test2 2.6.8-24.14-smp #1 SMP Tue Mar 29 09:27:43 UTC 2005 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
And the thing is I already have 10.1.0 oracle 64 bit linux client working on this "test2" machine.(I installed a few months ago).
And then when I try to do "runInstaller" and then
somehow, oracle keep putting oraInventory subdirectory to this location
(the old installation location, since right now I am trying to install
10.2.0, not the
10.1.0):
/apps/oracle/product/10.1.0-64bit/oraInventory
But this is my previous 10.1.0 installation subdirectory.
Let me show you my "oraInst.loc" file:
more oraInst.loc
inventory_loc=/apps/oracle/product/10.1.0-64bit/oraInventory
inst_group=oinstall
And then from the "installer" , I don't see any option to ask me to enter the location of oraInventory.
Thanks,
