I would not know about any books to prepare for certification exams, since I passed them (DB2 for LUW and DB2 for z/OS) based solely on my experience.
I don't think there is a "DB2 community" per se. Everyone has there own opinion of certification, regardless of the product or skill. All other things being equal, it does help in the consulting business or when looking for a job. But usually, not all other things are equal.
