Your definition of "everyone" is what, exactly? Are you assuming some sort of persona of "Le groupe, c'est moi"? If any other regular posters feel that I use excessive amounts of vulgar language, then please feel free to tell me.

As a forum, I find the comp.databases.oracle.**** hierarchy to have a very high signal to noise ratio, and, I believe, that I have respected that in not spamming and/or posting crude vulgar rants. If you disagree, please feel free to do so (pointing to posts where I have offended the community).

I would challenge you and/or anyone to show (m)any posts where I have used expletives regularly/excessively.

"all of the other regulars here"? I couldn't give an exact count, but I would imagine that 90% of my posts contain no expletives at all, maybe 5-6% contain some sort of "potty-talk", but in a "good way" - i.e. the language used is appropriate to the tone of the post.

You have the right to argue that my question of how to measure db market share is impossible to answer, but coming out with a remark like "your life must be excessively boring" was nothing short of gratuitously insulting, and I responded with another gratuitous insult.

Respectfully.

Paul...

When asking database related questions, please give other posters
some clues, like operating system, version of db being used and DDL.
The exact text and/or number of error messages is useful (!= "it didn't work!").
Thanks.

Furthermore, as a courtesy to those who spend
time analysing and attempting to help, please
do not top post.
