Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Intermittent Oracle client errors
We have a set of clients, web servers running win2k/IIS 5, using Oracle
client 8.1.7, connecting to a 9.2.0.5 DB running on a Sun box.
all machines are in same segment , behind the firewall, using local resolution (hosts file).
no TIMEOUT parameters are defined on the client or server, using all defaults.
everything working, except for some points usually with high load, in
which the connection seem to slow down and sometime we get TNS timeout
errors on the client.
the listener.log file on the server does not show any error at all,
actually when we are experiencing the periods in which the clients are
getting these errors the DB server seems to have a light load.
any clue anyone? here is a typical error I see on a client's sqlnet.log:
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=dbprodv)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=FPROD)(CID=(PROGRAM=D:\CFusion\Bin\cfserver.exe)(HOST=WEBSRV02)(USER=SYSTEM))))
