Ok, but the "schema" is visible and can be administer via java console.

Not so with the HTML interface of 10gR1 (or at least I wasn't able to). PUBLIC is not even listed amongst the users.

I'm still puzzled on how to list public grants, synonyms, dblinks, etc...
