Well we have really gone off from the beginning of this thread.

If we assume that oracle is really secure from the software side and what oracle provides to us ( obviously some strong opinions on that topic ) in terms of security patches, etc.

The next question is what platforms do people run oracle on and how secure are those platforms?

If you manage to get to root level or admin level, is there any protection left for the oracle database.

Obviously not.

Any exploitable unix/linux/windows/vms/whatever security holes that have existed since 1990 therefore put any oracle databases at risk.

Where did Larry come up with this 15 year remark?
