Ths mistake you made was giving an incorrect answer regarding the exp utility. Surely you can't guarantee the OP was using any recent version of Oracle (except by assumption) as he/she never posted which version was in use. To offer solutions which may or may not be usable is foolhardy. Tell me how 'useful' such a solution would be with 8.1.7.x or earlier releases? The exp solution works on every release since 6, a fact you can't state for your response.
You stated exp couldn't perform the actions clearly documented by Oracle; your answer was wrong, and, to be honest, not the most useful given the dearth of information in the original post. One should always look before one leaps, as it could be a long way down should one be wrong.
