Yep. The suits trying to disclaim any and all responsibilities. Only works in software AFAIK. Imagine car and retail and other manufacturers trying to provide warranties, licensing and limit liability the same way as software vendors...

OTOH though, software is used in the "wild" - myriad hardware plaforms, operating systems, device drivers and other software running on "your" software. Just what can you guarantee and what liabilities can you accept/risk?

Liability almost killed General Aviation (GA). Ask companies like Cessna and Piper Aircraft. Fact. The vast majority of aircraft accidents are related to pilot failure. Yet, GA companies got sued into bankruptcy because of pilots that screwed up. So much for the legal system (which seldom dispenses justice).

Q. What do you call 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
